DIY-Spiked iPhone Cover

What You'll Need:
  • 5/8" Tree spikes (25-40 depending on how close together you want them)
  • iPhone Cover (I recommend something slightly more sturdy than a silicon skin, yet still puncturable)
  • Sharp pointy object for making holes (I used a sharp, 1mm screw)
  • Sharpie or pen
I started with this silicon cover, which later ended up being slightly too flimsy.
Lay out spikes to get an idea of how you'd like them spaced out, then mark each spot with a sharpie. Using a pointy object of your choice, begin puncturing holes in the cover for the spikes. I recommend doing one row at a time, then adding in the spikes and making sure the placement is correct before beginning the next row. *Tip: Don't place spikes too close to the camera hole, otherwise the spike will obstruct the camera's view.
This is what you will end up with. Notice that with this type of cover, tears are already present around the spike placement. That is why I recommend a more sturdy material for the cover.
And here it is on my phone! While I worked on this one, my boyfriend decided to begin one using my old phone cover, that is made out of more of a plastic material, yet still has some flexibility. After my disappointment of the first one, I finished this second one and couldn't be more pleased!

The cover already had the perfect grid to follow for placing the spikes, and since it was a more sturdy material, they didn't point in all crazy directions like the first one. Unlike the first one, I would definitely feel comfortable carrying this every day without fear of harming it. Love!

Fall Exploration

Isn't this gorgeous? The light and colors.

I was falling off the log, and apparently my arms decided to fall off too haha

We had an audience!

My beau, Ken (on the right) and Lando being boys
My boyfriend, his friend Landon, and I had the afternoon off and decided to do some exploring! We drove around for a good hour looking for an interesting and secluded place. We finally found this random old road I'm sure no one has driven down in centuries.

Guess what I just ordered?!

Two silicone iPhone cases and a side of spikes. Hopefully they'll be here by Friday, but I have a feeling it won't be until next week. Can't wait!

New obsession...short suits! I guess I'm a little late on this seeing as how its now Fall, but then again I can just imagine an adorable little tweed suit with sheer tights and ankle boots.

Here's my new hair and new lip color, "Smoked Purple" by MAC! Now back to homework.

That's basically what my entire day today will consist of. Homework. I have class until 3, then I'll attempt to complete everything on my to-do list for my classes. I'll also get a photo up of my new hair and lip color!

I think I smell a DIY coming in the near future...

lI found it! The perfect lip shade for fall. Its by MAC, and called "Smoked Purple." I've been trying on different colors with different glosses on top, by the suggestion of the wonderful Kory from the MAC counter, while at work (I work at Dillards). Its a deep matte plum shade. Dark, vampish, perfect. I'll show a pic of it on soon, hopefully with my new bangs!

Sometime early next week, maybe even tomorrow, I'm going to get bangs! After a year of growing them out, I finally got them to the length where I could tuck them behind my ear, and now I'm already tired of it. I'm thinking of something similar to Emma Stone's fringe. I love the way that its a slight curve to frame her face, somewhat straight across without being too blunt or heavy. I also like how it looks when swept to the side, and I have to say I love the fuschia lips against her pale complexion! Maybe I should try it, since I already have the whole pale thing going for me. Can't wait!

MAC "Soulfully Rich"

I tried this lip color yesterday. I liked it, but its a little more red than what I'm looking for.

I'm an art freak. Unfortunately I've been to busy lately to actually do much, but here are a few recent works.

The painting isn't finished yet, as there are many touch ups and details left. The other two are just sketches that I would do out of a magazine and such between classes.

lip colour

One of my favorite trends for Fall is dark plum lips. Normally I would never wear lipstick, but I've become so bored and need a change. Here are just a few of my inspirations:

Ugh, Chanel Iman has the most gorgeous lips! I'm jealous.

heavy metal

I bought these beauties a couple of months ago and have yet to wear them. I'm thinking I'll pair them with some sheer black tights, suede ankle boots and an oversized, chunky black sweater. I have all of those things, so I should probably get to it! They've been patiently waiting in my closet for much too long.

Sorry for the crappy quality, I'm too lazy to get up and find my camera.

This blog has been sitting around for months untouched. I guess I could start today since I have some free time! I just finished up with classes and an interview, and now its time to relax...and do homework, for a couple of hours. Also, today just happens to be my wonderful boyfriend and I's THREE YEAR anniversary. Holy cow. As soon as he finishes at work, we'll be headed to Wasabi for some delicious chicken fried rice and edamame. So excited!
